ISAA Activism Vice President Russell Williams was featured on CNN's "TalkBack Live" television show, side-by-side with Judy Freespirit, a fellow size activist representing the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA).The show's topic centered around the powerful debate over the events leading to the trial of Marlene Corrigan, who has been charged with felony child abuse to her 13-year old daughter, Christine, who died of supposed heart failure earlier this year. Christine weighed 680 pounds at the time of her death.
The hour-long program aired at 3:00 pm Eastern Time on December 30, 1997. A child abuse lawyer from the Atlanta area, a doctor from George Washington University, and an author/researcher were also guests on the show to offer counterpoints.
